Professional Experience
Throughout her professional career, Thaís has developed and led legal strategies focused on environmental and climate law and human rights, with notable experience in environmental due diligence, assessment of environmental liabilities and regulatory risks, and advisory work on matters involving traditional communities, carbon markets, ESG, and environmental compliance.
She has coordinated transnational climate litigation arising from environmental disasters, brought before European jurisdictions, and has also led advisory strategies aimed at defining socio-environmental criteria and requirements applicable to development projects and ventures with significant environmental and climate impacts.
Prior to joining Mello Torres, she worked at Trennepohl Advogados; Pogust Goodhead (in Amsterdam, the Netherlands, and in Brazil); the International Criminal Court (The Hague, the Netherlands); and the Court of Justice of the State of Rondônia, where she began her legal career.
